Royal G. Jackson: You had some brothers and sisters.
Edward Sekermestrovich: Yes, I had brothers and sisters.
Royal G. Jackson: How big a family was that?
Edward Sekermestrovich: Ten.
Royal G. Jackson: Ah! Did any of those go in the 3-C camp?
Edward Sekermestrovich: None of them. They're gold bricks, all of them. [When Ed repeated this same statement to me over ten years later, his eyes were twinkling and he was grinning with obvious pride. BZ]
21. Return Visits
Royal G. Jackson: Did you ever leave Corvallis once you came back in 1946?
Edward Sekermestrovich: Yes, I went home four times.
Royal G. Jackson: But just to visit?
Edward Sekermestrovich: Yes. And come back.
Royal G. Jackson: You lived in Corvallis, and that's where you came back after the war?
Edward Sekermestrovich: That's right.
Royal G. Jackson: And you hadn't been back to Camp Arboretum until two weeks ago?
Edward Sekermestrovich: Oh, no, when I came back the first time I went there. When I came back in 1946 or 1947, or whatever the heck it was.
Royal G. Jackson: What was the camp like after 1942, when it wasn't a 3-C camp anymore? Do you recall?
Edward Sekermestrovich: No, I don't. I think that's funny when I got out of there, I didn't meet anybody from there after that. I don't know why. Just like going to a different street. They all went some place else, and that's it.
Royal G. Jackson: One of the notes we made was something about feeding starving livestock. Do you remember anything like that?
Edward Sekermestrovich: No, must have been when I was out of town. [See Starker and Berg oral histories regarding the "Blue Snow" of 1887-1888. BZ]
Royal G. Jackson: Did your group move out by the time you quit?
Edward Sekermestrovich: Oh, no. I quit before they moved.
