Letitia Carson · The Library’s own layer
People
The historical people this record names, and where each of them appears in it.
32 people. Everyone here was born before 1900 and is long dead. The line under each name is the Library’s summary of what the pages in this series say about them, with a note of where it read that; the two counts are the pages of reproduced text and the documents in the registers where the name occurs.
The family line runs on past this page to descendants living now, several of them enrolled at the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. The Library stops at the generation that is historical and publishes nothing about anyone born after 1926. The genealogy is the family’s to tell.

How this list was made
Names were matched against the text of the works reproduced in this series and against the filenames the creator gave his scans. Where a clerk spelled a name several ways — Letitia Carson’s own name is written at least eight ways in the case file — every spelling was searched. A name occurring in a filename means the creator put it there; a name occurring on a page means it is in the source. Nothing on this page is inferred from anywhere else.
The people who made this record — Bob Zybach, Janet Meranda, John Meranda, and the others he thanks — are living and are not indexed here. They are named where they belong: on the pages of the work they made, and on About the creator.
