America's School Trust Library

Reading Room · Section III

The Scholarship

The works that read, organize, and extend the school-trust tradition.

The Scholarship is not the primary sources — those live in the Founders' Library. The Scholarship is the secondary and tertiary literature: the academic studies, the practitioner treatises, the comparative analyses, the policy reports that read the founding texts and trace what happened to the school-trust tradition across two centuries. The Library curates the Scholarship in three tiers.

Suggest a contribution — Title Stewards for the Tier 3 in-copyright works are actively recruited.

Tier 1 / Tier 2 — Library-hosted

Public-domain or open-access works that the Library hosts, summarizes, and links to in full where possible.

Tier 3 — in-copyright; curator-recruitment open

Works the Library cannot host directly but wants to surface, recommend, and where possible recruit a Title Steward to maintain. Each entry below has an open Title Steward seat — see /contribute/ for the role definition.
