Precision
Read off Bob Zybach's hand-labeled tour-route map (Zybach-Ross_20171010-10.jpg, "Elliott Forest Oral History Tour, October 10, 2017"): stop marker #A-23 (marker 23) and the map's "Cougar Pass Lookout" symbol falls in PLSS T23S R10W 3 (Willamette Meridian). Coordinate is the centroid of that section from BLM CadNSDI; accuracy about +/-0.5 mile. Not a surveyed position for the named feature. Not in GNIS for Coos/Douglas (the two Oregon "Cougar Pass" GNIS entries are in Lane and NE Douglas counties and are different features). Tower built 1935 by the CCC (Phillips 1998: 92-94).
